I enjoy staying there even with its quirky issues. Just about everything is walkable, and I enjoy the environment. I don't mind having to park my car on a side street, because there's no parking in the square after 2 am. The biggest issue for us was the portable heater. It would wake us up every time it would turn on. Also, if you want a warm to hot shower in the morning. You better take it early, or you’ll be taking a sort of kind of luke warm shower. As for the free breakfast, don't waste your time. It's pretty pathetic and not worth it. Sounds like I wouldn't stay there again, but you'd be wrong. The thing I like when I travel is not having to climb in the car once I reach my destination. The location is worth dealing with these minor issues to me.

For my purposes the location was excellent. The staff varied from pleasant and accommodating to very helpful. This is an historic landmark and is quaint but dated. It was very clean. It has an operational elevator.

The old historic building, the downtown location, and the price were great. The bed was super comfortable and the old claw foot bathtub made me so happy, it also had excellent hot water pressure. The staff was helpful and quick to accommodate any questions or needs.

Location close to restaurants, comfortable and friendly staff. I have stayed here many times in the past always after camping and Hotel Arcata almost feels like home. Wonderful to have a place that allows dogs.

It's a beautiful historic hotel right in the center of a very walkable downtown. Staff is great. Bed was very comfortable. I love the fact that the rooms still use real keys. Free parking 6pm to, basically, 11 am the next day.
